2011 Nike Women’s Half Marathon

As you all may be aware, my wife has been raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training to run the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in San Francisco.

The race is not until October, and my wife is already above 10mi for her long run for the week. She’s on pace to do the distance no problem. Her fundraising goal has also been met! As of this writing, her website does not reflect all donations made yet because some cash donations are currently in the mail and they take a few days to show up on the website. Donations are still being accepted, though. We want to blow the goal amount out of the water now!

Some of you may have noticed that I don’t have the donation widget on my page anymore. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been working for awhile now and I removed it from my page because it didn’t even link you to the donation page. Use the links on this page if you’d like to donate.

I will be attending the race to provide a report to my own readers. I’ll be taking pictures and I’m working on a route so I can maximize my picture-taking opportunities along the way. I hope to rent a bicycle so I can get ahead of the race pace and at minimum get the start and finish. I’d also like to get an intermediate spot along the course, so we’ll see. I’m not sure how easy it will be to get my hands on a rental bike that weekend.
